Week Seven

For week seven, I had the opportunity to write any articles I wanted. I spent about two days, researching, arranging interviews and writing. I’ve finished an article about diabetes awareness, and I’m still working on an article about mental health at TidalHealth-- still trying to get interviewees. I’m also in the process of a press release regarding a TidalHealth MyChart and Apple Health merger. I got to interview Vice President of IT, Mark Weisman, and I hope to finish this release next week.
This week was extra fun because I shadowed my internship supervisor, Robert Follebout, during his TidalHealth Podcast. I got to go to the studio in Downtown Salisbury and watch a live tapping of the show. I learned a lot about the amount of detail the company puts into making sure patients have knowledge and access to everything. I’d been watching the podcasts for potential information and quotes for a few of my articles, so it was amazing to see all the work that goes into it live. Roger is a fantastic public speaker from his years of anchoring on TV, so it was great to learn from someone with such great experience. What a great week.
Sample work: Here is my finished diabetes awareness article as well as the press release transcribed interview with Dr. Mark Weisman. The transcription took 2 hours because of the length of our interview and detail of Dr. Wiesman's answers. The diabetes awareness article took a couple hours as well, as I gathered quote from TidalHealth's online podcasts and sources. I’ve also included the April health/cultural observances I wrote for social media/ huddle notes.
